7-year-old girl lured, assaulted by elderly neighbor for three days in Katwa

A 7-year-old girl from Katwa has accused an elderly neighbor of sexually assaulting her for three consecutive days. According to the victim’s family, the man lured the child to his home each afternoon over the past three days, when no one else was present. During these visits, the accused allegedly gagged the girl with a cloth and assaulted her. He also threatened to kill her and dispose of her body in a sack if she reported the incident.

Due to this threat, the victim did not reveal the abuse to her family. The abuse came to light when other children from the neighborhood witnessed the incident and informed the girl’s family. Upon learning of the abuse, the family questioned the girl, who confirmed the assault. Following this, the family rushed the girl to Katwa Hospital on Thursday night, where a medical examination was conducted. Hospital authorities confirmed that the child underwent tests based on the family's complaint, and further reports are expected to clarify the nature of the assault.

The police were alerted, and the accused, a man in his 60s, was arrested by the Katwa police shortly after the complaint was filed. The investigation is ongoing, and medical reports are awaited to confirm whether the assault constitutes rape. The accused remains in police custody, facing charges of sexual assault and child abuse.
